Welcome back to school 2008!

This year Mrs Sink will have a newsletter on the Georgia Web page that changes with seasonal concerts, performances,   and upcoming events. Occasionally there will be pictures of students with teachers and announcements of how the community can be involved. I plan to include musical excerpts from "Youtube", links to musical websites, and MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface)files that students have created.

Please view this page often to read about things that are happening here in our musical world at Georgia, Vermont.

Did you know that we now own a two octave set of Hand Chimes with the help of Carol Frechette, Walter Bell(Carol's father) and a grant from the North Country Federal Credit Union? Every Third grader will play these this year!

Please practice singing the Star Spangled Banner with words and music at this youtube space:Our National Anthem "Star Spangled Banner"

Musical Enrichment:   There will be 3 opportunities each semester for Elementary students to be involved in an extra music activity. One is on Mondays from 11:40-12:15 when singing with movement and drama will be the focus. A song and dance combination with props and  a story or rap being will be told. On Wednesdays from 1:30-2:10, Fourth graders will be invited to join in a Handchime Group which will perform in a November or Holiday concert. I need about 13 students for a complete three-octave Handchime Choir with some experience in third grade music class as a prerequisite.  The Middle School Chorus for grade 5-8 meets every Tuesday and Friday morning from 8-8:40 AM.
